Breakfast is our favourite meal of the day by far – and you’ll need a pretty hearty one before heading out to explore London’s sights.
We include a generous breakfast spread for free with your stay. You’re welcome to join us and tuck in from 7am until 10am every day.
If you’d prefer (or need) a gluten-free or vegetarian breakfast, let us know before you arrive and we’ll make sure there are some tasty alternatives ready for you.
Our rooms are small and cosy, but if you want to sprawl, be sociable and soak up the atmosphere, you can use our welcoming lounge areas.
If you’re having a lazy day in, fancy a drink before dinner or a nightcap before bed, head down to our lounge and bar. The space is only open to our bed and breakfast guests, so it’s a great way to enjoy some peace and quiet away from the hectic pace of London.
If it’s a lovely day, you may even be tempted to sit out on our quiet, private terrace and catch some precious rays of sunshine. Or if you’re arriving back to our King’s Cross bed and breakfast in the early hours, our team are on hand throughout the night and always happy to mix you a midnight tipple.
Join us at our private bar and lounge and enjoy a free drink for every room when you book your stay directly with us. Read more about our Free Drink at The California Bar and more in the Offers section of our website.
King’s Cross benefits from a lively bar and restaurant scene and there are plenty of local options to choose from when it comes to finding somewhere to eat during your stay.
Whether you’re looking for a family friendly restaurant for lunch or a few snacks and evening drinks, we bring you the lowdown on the local options in the bars & pubs and restaurants sections of our King’s Cross Blog.
Once you’ve settled on a venue, download our King’s Cross Map: restaurants & bars to help find your way there.
We have a couple of ‘fail-safe’ venues that we’re always to happy to recommend to our guests at The California. They are:
Karpo Restaurant a modern neighbourhood brasserie at the end of our road. Open for brunch, lunch and dinner their menus are influenced by Mediterranean flavours and have well-priced options for families and groups.
Megaro Bar if you would like to indulge in a cocktail during your stay at The California, we recommend a trip to Megaro Bar. The interiors and the menus are inspired by old Hollywood glamour and mischief, with rich red drapes, vintage director’s chairs and a ‘Classics with Issues’ menu. .
